Curriculum
The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF) guides the teaching and learning at Glass Street Kindergarten. In line with this our vision is that:
“All children have the best start in life to create a better future for themselves and for the nation.”
The Framework draws on conclusive international evidence that early childhood is a vital period in children’s learning and development. It has a specific emphasis on play-based learning and recognises the importance of communication and language (including early literacy and numeracy) and social and emotional development.
The Framework conveys the highest expectations for all children’s learning and it communicates these through the following five Learning Outcomes:
· Children have a strong sense of identity
· Children are connected with and contribute to their world
· Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
· Children are confident and involved learners
· Children are effective communicators.
Policies:
Glass Street Kindergarten policies are available in a folder in the locker area at kindergarten for you to view. We will be updating these in the next few months and they will be updated and uploaded on the website.
Handbook:
A copy of the family handbook is emailed to families when they enrol. A hardcopy of this is also available for viewing in the kindergarten locker area.
