4 Year Old Program Co Teaching
Co-teaching is an effective teaching method as it promotes the sharing of ideas, reflection on our practice and alternate perspectives on our observations of the children.
We will be working together to plan the program for Kangaroo Paw, Bluebell & Wattle, as well as setting goals for individual children and small and large groups.
We will be working in a collaborative way as we share the teaching of the four-year-old program. You can speak to either teacher regarding your child and we will share the information with each other. Please feel comfortable to approach either one of us with any concerns/questions you may have during the year.
We are excited to be working in this collaborative way to draw on each other’s strengths and interests to provide the best possible experience for your children at kindergarten. We did spend time together in 2017 co- teaching and so have had experience in working this way together. We find it a valuable experience to learn from each other as teachers, and feel it enhances our teaching practice.

Sonia Hayes Director & 4Y/O Co-Teacher
Qualification: Bachelor of Early Childhood Studies
This year I am the director/nominated supervisor and co teaching the four year old group with Alyssa. I have had a number of different roles at Glass Street since I have been associated with the kinder. I am looking forward to the challenges this new role will present me with.
During my teaching career I have taught across a number of different settings including sessional kindergarten and in the early years sections of schools in Australia and London. These very different and varied experiences have enabled me to learn about working with a diverse range of professionals and children. They have also supported me to improve my own teaching practices.
I have been inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach during my teaching career and was privileged to attend a study tour to the city in Italy in 2006. The approach is an innovative and inspiring approach to early childhood education which values the child as strong,capableand resilient; rich with wonder and knowledge. Every child brings with them deep curiosity and potential and this innate curiosity drives their interest to understand their world and their place within it.
Other interests I have within early years include;
